Christmas party at your Ambassador's residence in Moscow. Wow, the place is stunning. Nice enough to entertain Reagan, Nixon, Kissinger, and have Prokofiev perform. If the walls could speak, they'd be saying, keep Stefan's chocolate covered fingers off of me. We had Russian folk dancers in one ball room, a pianist in another, treats galore, Santa, the Russian version of Santa, and a coat check room the size of our apartment. It was okay.

I'm suffering a little because I can't get my Nikon D80 to function properly. My baby! So I'm doing everything with the iPhone, which is amazing, but limiting. I'm hoping it's the Nikon's battery. Stay tuned for better pictures, someday. It's why I'm taking so long setting up picture-a-day Moscow, I need the good camera.

    I couldn’t tell, your photos are as good as ever even with the I phone (we finally have seen the light as well, and love Mac products). I would feel intimidated at this party until I saw the guy in the back ground with a beard, wearing a grey t-shirt, I bet he’s even drinking a beer. I’m real glad they finally came to their senses and gave your job to you.

    Pretty impressive! One of the perks that goes along with the job. Quite the party.
    I also was wondering about the guy in the gray tee shirt and wondered where he came from.
    Congrats on your new job too.
    Another one of the things that I feel badly about with my grandchildren in Moscow is that they don’t get to do the traditional holiday trip to see Santa Claus.

    Congratulations on the job! Yay!!!!! I’m SO glad it worked out!
    That party looks like a lot of fun! You definitely have gotten to do some neat thing thus far by being within the diplomatic community 🙂
    I’m flat-out at work (thery’re not too happy I’m leaving a week early to have Christmas in America — as if I’d work on Christmas!!… so I have a lot I need to finish up before leaving on Saturday. I wish I could see you guys again before leaving!
    We’ll have to have fun catching up when we get back in January. I’m sure you’ll have LOADS of fun during the holidays; there’s so much fun stuff going on!
    Katya is LOVING the Catherine book that both she and Camille ordered; what a kick to read it while living here! When she realized that Catherine was THE Catherine, as in “Tsaritsyno Palace” and the extensive collections at the Kremlin museum, she was beyond thrilled.

    I told you that you should have gotten a Canon! You might want to make sure the card is alright too. Two cards that I had in Niamey have gone bad on me; corrupted photos and then no longer readable. I can’t even format them. Congrats on the job as it’s perfect for you; also this should keep you from spending too much and sending Peter to the poor house LOL. Good luck and Happy Holidays!
