Oh, bless you! I can’t tell you the number of times I have brought something home and had to ask my husband (who speaks Russian), “Honey . . . what did I buy?”
I feel your pain!LikeLike

Hmmmm…. Memo to self – Add “shopping” to the list of things not to have Dina do for me.
Isn’t Keefer something like a yogurt drink or something? If it is, try mixing it with a fruit salad.
It great to see the kids on ice! Not having the railing removes a crutch that they didn’t need to start with. Way to go Stefan!LikeLike

I learned to ice skate on frozen New England ponds – no railings.
What is keefer?
Ask Tamara and the girls over to skate and she can give him skating lessons.LikeLike

In Scandinavia kefir is consumed with uncooked oatmeal and brown sugar — an acquired taste for breakfast but it grows on you. I like the “keefer” spelling, which is something even Americans could pronounce — especially fans of “24”.

Keefer is a yogurt-kind-of drink.

Now I know why Alex and his friends go to the “Moloko” bar in A Clockwork Orange. I don’t think they sell that kind of moloko in Moscow though.

It looks to me that the safe bet would be to stay with the recognizable bottle on the right. How long till Spring?

Hi!!! So how is the ice? If it’s basically smooth, then I’d to come join you guys some time! I’ve never skated at that park before.
I’m slowly emerging from the trip back — but was thrown HEAD FIRST back into work and the kids are STILL WIIIIIDE AWAKE at 1:20 a.m. Ugh! Sure will be hard to get them up and out in time to be at work by 8:30!
As for kefir, I love it… When I lived here in 1991, kids in nursery school got in their weekly humanitarian aid food boxes. The little girl in my host family generously traded it for chocolate with me 🙂LikeLike

I notice that the Socialist Realism packaging has not yet been eliminated. Time was–way back in 1970s San Francisco–kefir was a highly desired hippy Health Food Store item. I’ll bet Peet’s sister Helen remembers!
